ARE THEY TRYING TO TELL US SOMETHING? There have been a number of rather ambiguous remarks which have been made by the Mccanns and those associated with them which naturally leads one to wonder about the actual meaning behind what is being said. Gerry supposedly was addressing the abductor when he wrote in his blog: Sometimes people do things for reasons that even they cannot understand. An act of madness, an accident or sudden impulse can lead to consequences that people may never have imagined or intended. Faced with such a situation we believe any human soul will ultimately suffer torment and feelings of guilt and fear. If you have done something you regret, if you are in a situation you never intended, it is not too late to do the right thing. Please come forward, return Madeleine, leave her in a place of safety. At the very least, help us by letting us know what has happened to our beautiful little girl. However the Portuguese Police dont believe there was a mystery abductor but that they were involved in simulating an abduction (as evidenced in report of Tavares de Almeida). Therefore just who is Gerry really addressing here? Could it be someone closer to home? We then have the interview of Rachel Oldfield who said: Yeah I was just going to say that, you know Kate and Gerry are both Doctors and you know there were three other medics in the group, erm four others actually sorry, four others, erm you know so if by an chance theyd accidentally done anything to Madeleine or she was ill or erm you know something wasnt quite right, I mean they wouldnt have just let her and sort of tried to cover it up as an accident or you know, they would of sort of you know, come and got Matt and Russell and Dave and Fi, erm I mean you know, not just because they are Doctors, because you know theyre parents and youd kind of go to anyone to see who could help bit if youve got, you know Doctors as friends who were there as well, erm you know there were kind of six people there who if Madeleine had accidentally been bumped on the head of you know whatever the theories are supposed to be, erm you know, there were plenty of people there who could of you know, tried to revive a child, erm. What stands out here is her being at pains to tell the Police they wouldnt have covered it up if there was an accident and if Madeleine had accidentally been bumped on the head there were plenty of people who could of tried to revive a child. Strange information I would have thought to volunteer to the Police Officer, if he had asked the question - do you think they would have covered up an accident then you can understand it but I would think strange to freely volunteer that information and a question of too much information. Perhaps she is trying to tell us something here? We then turn to a comment made by David Payne after being asked by the Police Officer about what the Mccanns wore when playing tennis the Officer then asked what about a kit bag Would they have a kit bag with them This is how the conversation then continued: DP -Err he certainly didnt have a great big tennis bag or a, you know, err I mean I used to be a squash, a semi-professional squash player and you know they certainly didnt have anything that I would call a kit bag from days when I played PO - Yeah DP - You know, a lot of sport, err if they had a rucksack with some water in that would be, you know, about as big as it got, you know a small rucksack. but it certainly wasnt a big tennis, you know, things that you could put a tennis racquet in. PO - Yeah DP - There was nothing of that size that you could hide a, a tennis racquet in or anything like that, it would have been just purely, if they had anything. PO - Yeah DP - It would have been something that had their water in. PO - So as opposed to a bag itd be something like a rucksack, if at all. Once again strange for Payne to volunteer so much information, he wasnt asked about the size or detailed description of the bag but is at great pains to explain that it certainly wasnt big and nothing of the size you could hide a, a tennis racquet in or anything like that. You wouldnt use the word hide in a relation to putting a tennis racquet in a sports bag, so what was going through his mind when thinking about the bag to lead him to mention the words hide a? Turning now to something that Kate said - just want to press a button, and were all gone, and its all finished, and were all together, and gone, whatever This particular comment could lead people to believe that they know that Madeleine is dead, or why say those words? When a crime is committed speaking in general terms those involved or know what happened often feel the need to talk about it in some way, to unburden themselves, share the burden of what they know. If you have a pact, sworn to secrecy, it must be hard to keep that to oneself with the burden of what you know constantly weighing you down. On page 129 of Kates book she unburdens to Gerry the thoughts and visions in her mind to Gerry and ends by saying The pictures I saw of our Madeleine no sane human being would want in her head, but they were in mine and I simply couldnt rid myself of these evil scenes in the early days and weeks. Again is Kate trying to tell us something here, were these just thoughts and visions in her head or was this an actual scene she had seen in reality? No doubt there are plenty more examples we could find but instead of maybe trying to tell us something or possibly slipping up under the weight and burden of guilt and secrecy, I wish for Madeleines sake they would - just tell us!
