ARE YOU A MEMBER OF THE INVISIBLE CHURCH? And WHERE WILL YOU SPEND YOUR ETERNITY? Brethren, there are Visible Churches and the Invisible Church of Christ. The visible Churches are assemblies of believers in various locations such as homes, villages, cities, nations, etc. It consists of those whose names are on local Churches rolls, that is, all earthly denominations where sin and iniquity abound. While the Invisible Church is the ‘True Church of Christ’ (not just the name given to a denomination by men as ignorantly claimed by some spiritually myopic Christians in our time).Rather it means the church whose foundation is truly founded on Jesus Christ-the only begotten Son of God and our Lord and Saviour It’s made up of those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life {Rev.21:27}. It’s composed of all the born again Christians (not just by professing with your mouth without the corresponding in-heart repentance) of all nations (Rev. 7:9). Membership of this Church has nothing to do with colour of the skin, tribe, race, language, nationality or denomination {Gal.3:28-29}. It depends entirely on how you live right with God. Once a person is truly saved, he is automatically a member of the Church. At the same time, not every member of the local or visible churches is a member of the Invisible Church of Christ. Here is what the Lord says: Matt.7:21; “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doth the will of my father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them. I never knew you, depart from me, ye that work iniquity”. Brethren, from the scriptures above, it is clear that a lot of the members of the visible Churches who are calling Jesus, Lord, Lord have nothing to do with the Invisible Church of Christ. These people are Church goers but are not members of the Invisible Church. This is because they are not born again and not truly and genuinely in the will of the father as well as presence of SIN in their lives. Here is what the Bible says will happen to them at the end 1 Jn.3:8 He that committed sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the son of man was manifest, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of the devil whosoever doth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. So, being a member of the Invisible Church of Christ is more than just joining or belonging to a local church. It goes beyond titles/positions held in the church and even the miracles performed in the name of Jesus Christ. These do not automatically make you/one a member of the Invisible Church; It’s more than being born by godly or Christian parents; It’s also more than having godly husband or wife; It’s actually by choice and not by proxy. Your proxy can only offer prayer of intersection for protection, security, defence, coverage, etc but cannot offer you salvation. (Ps. 125:2-3a). It’s purely and absolutely a salvation issue The race to the kingdom of God is individualistic because at the second coming of our saviour Jesus Christ, all persons’ cases shall be treated individually and not collectively. My friends, the Lord is asking you the most important question of life. “Do you want to become a member of the Invisible Church of Christ and spend your eternity with Jesus Christ in heaven?” If your answer is yes to the above question, then repent now and key yourself/life into the following necessary steps that will catapult you to become a real believer in Christ and thus, a member of the Church. Steps: 1. You must acknowledge that you are a sinner and yet to become a child of God {Rom.3:23} 2. You must repent and forsake all your sins {Acts 13:19}. 3. You must confess your sins and pray for God to save your soul {Rom. 1`:13}. 4. You must give your total life to Jesus {Acts 16:31}. 5. You must start living right in the sight of God {1 Cor. 5:17}. 6. You must be prepared and do water baptism by immersion {Mk. 16:16}. My brothers and sisters, it will be very shameful, devastating, disastrous and frustrating to find yourself spending your eternity with satan, the devil in Hell Fire after all the Sunday and weekly services and the dedication and commitment to the service of God Almighty. Therefore, avoid the spirit of “It does not matter” in sinful issues of life. Hurry up now and key yourself into the aforementioned steps because if you do not become a member of the Invisible Church, all your labour in the local or visible churches will be in vain. {Matt.7:21-23}.
