ARE YOU CIVILIZED? Civility or to be civilized has nothing to do with academic excellence or book knowledge. This is because there are many - if not countless highly educated or learned people whose lifestyles never reveals common sense... Yes! Common sense ! Common sense is a flower of fragrance that does not grow in everybodys garden. A civilized person always indicates patience to accommodate the views or opinions of others; and this is common sense. A civilized person would never hijack any situation that calls for dialogue or negotiation, remember? Negotiatipn is an explicit voluntary trade between two parties where each party gives something for what they want from each other. Negotiation is the foundation of human civilization. Have you ever seen two dogs negotiating over a bone, or mate? They either use threats of violence or possible violence means to achieve their desires. Negotiation is anathema or abhorrent to tyrants or dictators who sees no reason why they should give you a chance to express yourself. Negotiation is what differentiates human beings from animals. And so when human beings expected to exhibit this all important element of human world are seen or heard acting contrarily, then comes the question Are you civilized? Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment. This denotes or indicates that civility never comes as a result of higher education or old age; rather it is how cultured you are. ARE YOU CIVILIZED?
