ARE YOU DRINKING ENOUGH WATER? This was a very interesting article for WOMEN over 40...... not just water but check out the last paragraph as well... re-hydrate yourself and see if you feel better..... WATER, WATER, WATER A recent article I read said that “more than 90 percent of women over 40 are chronically dehydrated.” Experts are issuing a surprising caution: The more water you guzzle, the more dehydrated you may become. They estimate that despite drinking plenty of water, most of us are dehydrated and suffering from symptoms like fatigue, headaches, blue moods and brain fog. The problem, asserts Robert O. Young, Ph.D., coauthor of “The pH Miracle”, is that plain water, tap and bottled, is made up of large molecules that aren’t efficiently absorbed by body cells, so these liquids may pass right through your system. What’s more, says Young, “Plain water doesn’t provide the electrolytes needed to maintain optimal fluid balance. When you drink a lot of this type of water, you can actually dilute your body’s levels of these energizing minerals. This speeds fluid out of the body and makes dehydration worse.” Complicating matters for those over 40, “As we get older, stress, diet and exposure to pollution damage our body’s cells and weaken their ability to hold water,” notes Howard Murad, M.D, author of “The Water Secret”. “The more damaged your cells are, the more dehydrated you become. You were 75 to 80 percent water when you were born, but now you’re probably closer to 50 percent water. The good news: There are two simple strategies that can immediately reverse chronic dehydration to boost energy, lift mood and speed slimming. Drinking water with an alkaline pH of 9.5 is a superior way to hydrate, says Young, “Alkaline water is made up of smaller molecules than regular water, so cells absorb it more readily and can pack more inside,” he explains. What’s more, alkaline water contains minerals – sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium – that function as electrolytes to further enhance fluid balance. You’ll feel energized and more alert after your first glass, but for optimal health, Young advises working your way up to drinking eight 8 oz. glasses a day. To make water alkaline, simply add 3 alkaline drops to 8 oz. of spring or filtered water. To ensure that your water reaches the recommended 9.5 pH level, consider testing with pH strips and adjusting the drops as needed. Young notes that as with all supplements, check with your doctor first. This is especially important for people with kidney problems, due to the potassium content in the alkaline drops. You can also eat your water in the form of fluid-rich raw fruits and vegetables like melons, grapefruit, apples, tomatoes, cucumbers and salad greens. This will work to quickly reverse chronic low-level dehydration. The reason is that these picks are natural sources of alkaline water, so they penetrate cells to hydrate in a superior way. And because the body digests produce slowly, that water is released steadily. “This allows it to be absorbed more effectively, which also encourages hydration,” says Dr. Murad. He said that a bonus for women over 40 is that fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants and phytochemicals that assist in cellular repair, so eating them can enhance cells’ ability to hold on to water as we age. ♥✿´¯`*•.¸¸✿♥✿´¯`*•.¸¸✿♥✿´¯`*•.¸¸✿♥✿´¯`*•.¸¸✿♥✿´¯`*•.¸¸✿ SHARE SHARE SHARE SHARE TO YOUR WALL SO IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY SAVE ON YOUR TIMELINE.
