ARE YOU QUALIFIED? This morning I was filling out a questionnaire for a friend who has yielded to a call to enter the battlefield in foreign missions. She and her husband are prayerfully seeking an assignment to serve the Lord in another country. (Prayers for both of them). After completing the extensive survey and realizing how important it is to place QUALIFIED and called people on the frontlines. I couldnt help but chuckle at a startling but sobering realization. Noah, Moses, Samuel, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi, not to mention our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, His disciples including John the Baptist and the Apostle Paul , and every other appointed and called spokesman for God in scripture, would have failed the initial screening of the mission board and would never been considered for service. It makes you wonder, how many of these Prophets would have QUALIFIED and cleared the Pastors Selection Committee? How many of them would have QUALIFIED to attend our accredited seminaries? Remember dear friend, it is not how well you measure up to the standards of the world or the religious crowd but what God sees in your heart and how well your life measures up to His Truth that QUALIFIES you. It is your faithfulness and willingness to receive, believe, walk, talk, share, and live the Truth before a dying world that QUALIFIES you as Gods messenger. Remember, it is not the world that you are living for. Your past is passed, and anyones who knows Jesus as Savior and walks in His Spirit is QUALIFIED to share His gospel message. For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the LORD has chosen you to be his treasured possession. (Deuteronomy 14:2) If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. (John 15:18) With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity. But that isnt what you learned about Christ. Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. And “dont sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need. Dont use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:17-32)
