ARE YOU UNIFIED??? Attended last nights Kent GOP Unity Dinner. After the despicable tactics used by the Party statewide, I had no intention to do so, however, Dave Agema called me and asked me to attend to represent him. Dave and Barb are in Chicago representing the MIGOP, attending the RNC meeting. Dave asked me to let everyone know he still stood for UNITY within the party, built on the basis of Unifying behind the PRINCIPLES of the RNC Platform. He contacted the GOP and told them I would be His Proxy. He was told both Justin Amash, and Terri Lynn Land would be speaking at the event. I myself RSVPED, and was also told by a staffer that ONLY Justin Amash and Terri Land would be speaking after I asked that they at least mention Dave was out of town representing the delegates. Dave has been snubbed for months at various GOP Events, not being allowed to speak, and often not even acknowledged when in attendance, too often blatantly, when other officials are. (Not exclusive to kent county, State conventions Dave has been missing from the agenda, and at a recent Ionia Dinner event, where Dave was the Highest ranking official until Brian Calley walked in at the end, he was also not allowed to speak.) Dave Agema himself will verify this, beginning with the winter state committee meeting, where he was scrubbed from the agenda, then added back in when almost 200 delegates showed up to support him. Now back to last night at the Kent GOP. With a packed house Terri land gave a milquetoast bland speech, met by mild enthusiasm. Many in attendance were wearing their Justin Amash t-shirts, and I talked earlier in the day to at least 8 people who had no intention of attending, but chose to do so because Jutin Amash had energized them by speaking out against Politics as usual. After another half hour of networking I decided to find Chris Beckering and ask him if he would at least announce Why Agema was not in attendance. I was taken aside and asked by a friend if I had heard that Justin Was not going to be allowed to speak. I decided then to Poke the bear even harder. I found Beckering and asked as to Dave Agema, and was told that the agenda was done for the night. I then inquired as to Justin speaking and was informed Justin said he did not want to speak. When I put him on the spot saying that I had just talked to Justin, the story changed to A staffer Told Him Justin did not want to speak, In the end it was attributed to a miscommunication, concerning Justins apparent unwillingness to speak to Brian Ellis, until Ellis apologized to His Family, Staff, and the constituents of the 3rd district. Justin in the end agreed with the circumstances, and decided not to speak. It was not until I watched the 11pm news 8 interview that I realized Justin had already made his point, and doubled down on what I believe will UNITE and ENERGIZE the MIGOP in a way missing for the last 2 years. Justins call for the end of politics as usual, especially within our own primary, is refreshing, and is gaining national attention. My mother, who has never been a big Justin Fan, and used to fawn over Pete Hoekstra, was CHEERING Justin on when he called out Hoekstra and Ellis Tuesday night. So many people are tired of the usual backstabing, dirty tactics, lies, and slime too common during the primaries. Then we watch as everyone is called to come together and become friends, Ask those who slithered out of the swamp, to pull the knives out of our backs, and please let us join their team, and help their candidate until november, Uniting behind the R after their name.
