The twentieth century marks a glorious period of political revolution in the history of the subcontinent of india. There was a fervour that the whites should be sent away and freedom obtained.The thirst for freedom grabbed the passion and blood of all people from the Himalayas to Kanyakumari and started fluttering in flames of refomation. The South indians were in the political movement, no doubt.At the same time there was a raging battle between the Brahmins and non Brahmins too. It was a period when the non brahmins came out in protest against the injustice perpetrated against the injustice perpetrated against them for centuries by the Brahmins and even during the days of the days of the struggle for freedom .They brought out instances of brahmin injustice with appropriate evidences and rose up against them like volcanoes. It was a period When Periyar founded the camp of the Dravidar Kazhagam to inspire the Tamils who had been deluded into the belief of Aryan supremacy to live a life of self respect. It was a period when Anna assumed the responsibility of the lieutenant of the Dravidian camp and led the people of tamilnadu in the path of the principles propagated by periyar.
