AROUND THE WORLD IN 230 DAYS Landing last Monday on Madrid Airport I had to admit myself that my 230 days trip around the world was completed . Although still thousands of miles away from home this was the spot where I started my Round The World trip in August 2013 by flying west to Quito. And now I flew back from Maldives, east! 41 flights, 29 days (actually nights) bus travel, 7 nights in world’s worst (and second worst) rails, 8 days on awesome boat trips on Asian big rivers (Ah Mekong!), 11 days in private car rides and last, but sure not least; 28 days in the care of our overland truck drivers! -Makes all-together 120 days active travelling!. -Means 110 days not doing a shit! Number of counrtires visited: 26 (Timor Leste, Brunei…). Number of islands visited (located between America and Asia): 14 ( Bora-Bora, Palau, New Guinea…) . Number of new facebook friends: 35 (and I miss all and everyone of you), 46000 miles travelled, 224 sunny days and 6 rainy. Etc etc. All my new records! But breakable, of course! The most beautiful country of the world? I am not gonna neglect my old favorites, Island and Malaysia, but now there is a third one on the same line: New Zeeland. And special thanks go to Andrew and his friends for your hospitality in showing your gorgeous country. And Sights? Anghor Wat in Cambodia is still my favorite, but the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar (Burma), came very close in my list of the mightiest monuments man has ever built.
