ARRESTS MADE IN CONNECTION WITH SEPTEMBER 12, 2014 HOUSE BURGLARY IN THE 1800 BLOCK OF RUSH ROAD: On 09-23-2014, detectives from Wickliffe, Willowick, Mentor, and Pepper Pike arrested two men in connection with several recent burglaries in Lake and Cuyahoga Counties. Michael A. Frydrych (33) of Willowick and Bret Dixon (26) of Euclid are currently being held at the Wickliffe City Jail. Each has been charged with one count of Burglary, a second degree felony offense, for breaking into and ransacking the Rush Road home. Charges against the two are pending in other jurisdictions as well. Detectives received information from the Euclid Police Department indicating that the two males were selling large amounts of jewelry at a Euclid cash for gold store. This information led Wickliffe detectives to the identification of several items taken in area burglaries. On 09-23-2014, investigators from several cities initiated surveillance on three different addresses and eventually took the two suspects into custody, along with a female who was questioned and eventually released. Searches were conducted on two cars, a Euclid apartment, and a Willowick home. A number of stolen items were recovered in the searches. This investigation is ongoing, and detectives are working to identify the owners of property recovered in order to link the suspects to additional crimes.
