ARTIST OF THE MONTH RECEPTION - Stop by the Botanic Garden Visitor Center on Thursday, September 4 between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. for a reception celebrating our new Artist-of-the-Month, Beth Bynum. There will be food, wine and music (some great old-time banjo music) and Beths beautiful collage work on display. There is no charge for this event. Heres a little about Beth, and some samples of her wonderful work: Beth Ann Bynum’s beautiful collage work reflects her joy of learning, the challenge of using recycled materials, and her interest in cultures around the world. “When I start a piece, I never know where it will take me. The thrill is in the process. I do paper collage adding acrylic paint, perhaps an old photo, and funky found objects. I love to stamp, scribble, tear, layer, cover and add, experimenting with new techniques. This has led me to finding a new art adventure: collagraphs.” Beth’s art is inspired by beauty of the ordinary. All of her pieces have a story, which she enjoys sharing.
