AS PROMISED: The Exile One Story. Part I This song was recorded in 1970 and became the first Guadeloupe recording to become an international hit. Very big in Surinam then a Dutch colony and crossed over to Holland. The producer Henri Debs was eager to produce an album and Gordon Henderson wrote 8 new songs but wanted Anglo saxon musicians and at first invited his fellow musicians from Portsmouth Dominica, Milestones. They started rehearsals but the group chose faster money by going off to the Saints to play dances. Henderson then asked his old school mate and then musician with the GAYLORDS to recruit musicians for the project and Fitzroy did just that. Today March 30, 2014 for the first time one of the musicians reveals that the musicians had a secret intention to eventually before the project had even begun to replace Gordon Henderson with a sixteen year old called Brian Rock. Brian was however quickly called back nome by his mother who thought he was too young for such an adventure. Interestingly, the more experienced Debs had advised Henderson to name the band Gordon Henderson and the..... because among other reasons, the name Gordon Henderson was already growing internationally with the label. This must have been Hendersons first mistake which continues to haunt him to this day of ingrate revelation!
