When you write your own songs... but you have not been hired by the record label to produce them... this uncontrollable distant stare is a look that can live and die on your face while you listen to the final mixes of your product. No two people ever have the exact, same vision for a songs outcome. Especially composers and producers. So my advice to young writers is.... if you care enough about your work..... put everything else on the back burner..... (the partying & the girls) and stay in the studio. Sit shoulder to shoulder with your producer as much as you can. Be in his ear..... and make sure your songs come out sounding as close as possible to your original concept. You must make your ideas heard... on how you hear the final masters laid to rest.
