ASUU he who fight and run away is not necessarily a coward but may - TopicsExpress

ASUU he who fight and run away is not necessarily a coward but may live to fight another day. Many have chosen not to air their opinion and grievances over the protracted ASUU strike but that doesnt mean they are not concerned over the choatic situation which has... already beclouded our university system. Perhaps i may be one of those Nigerians who have remained mute but greatly worried about the strike. It is very appalling that all the negotiations towards ending the strike have proved abortic and ended in a deadlock. It is a proven and well researched fact that the major challenge facing our country Nigeria is Over-Population, it may also interest us to know that a well derived statistical analysis shows that 75% of Nigerias national budget is used for payment of salaries, gratuities and pensions, thereby leaving just 25% of the national budget to catter for developmental and infrastructural projects in all the sectors of the nation, this is very pitiable. I also want to use this opportunity to thank ASUU for their struggles in previous years which is the reason why we have the little infrastructures and facilities in our universities today. I will not fail to thank the presidency and its working executives in their efforts towards tackling the challenges facing our country Nigeria. In as much as i know that it is not easy to govern and put every sector under proper control in a multi-farous nation as Nigeria, i also know that To whom much is given, much is expected. It is a shame that None of the Nigerias universities is ranked among the best 1000 universities in the whole world. Shame to ASUU, for not carrying out academic research and not guiding Nigerian students properly in the new global scheme of Knowledge. Greater shame to Federal government for structural and facility decay and for not providing a condusive environment for the activity of teaching and learning in Nigerias Universities. For that which is Right to remain right, that which is Wrong must remain wrong: therefore two wrongs cannever make a Right. ASUU may be Right in their agitation for the implementation of 2009 FG- ASUU agreement, but their insistence and policy of No Shifting Ground is outrightly Laughable and grossly Irrational. ASUUs policy of no shifting ground would do nothing but collaps Nigerias university system which is already in shambles. FG now sees ASUUs insistence as a game of I Challenge You To Take One Post to the present administration. I think if Asuu continue with their irrational insistence, the FG would have no choice but to promulgate a wicked law that will Outlaw ASUU as a union, and if that becomes the case Asuu would nolonger have a platform for subsequent struggles and agitations. If Asuu ends the ongoing strike today, one would agree with me that it is not a failed strike because 130 billion naira is not what u can pick on the road while walking down the streets of Lagos or Abuja. Asuu has 130 billion onground as the proceed of the strike and FG has promised 200 billion in 2014 fiscal budget for universities, so Asuu has already achieved alot through the strike. It is on this ground that i want to re-emphasize that He who fights and run away lives to fight another day. On behalf of all the Nigerian students and well meaning Nigerians i pleading to ASUU to call off the protracted strike and save our university education. Long Live Nigerian Students! Long Live ASUU !! Long Live Federal Republic of Nigeria !!! .
