AT A GLANACE - QUALITIES OFA PRACTICING OR A GOOD MUSLIM: We (the admin team) can say without reservation that it is the desire of every Muslim to be a ‘Good Muslim’, close to be with ALLAH (swt) and have a place in theparadise/ Junnah. The question is - how do we achieve our ultimate wish? Many scholars have expressed their diverse views, but the most precise answer lies within theethics of ISLAM; meaning strictly following the guidance and messages of the Qur’an and Sunnah. There is no other way or short cut approach to achieve our desire - we all have to go through a number of tests, be strong and persistent. First, we need to know the characteristic of a Practicing or a Good Muslim. Itis often assumed that a person who prays five times a day, recite Qur’an, support charities, help the poor and the needy people, fast during the month of Ramadan, etc, etc. isa Practicing or a Good Muslim. This is just a small part of our obligatory duties, and if we conduct further study of the Qur’an and authentic hadiths then we will find that the most simple and effective way is - following the footsteps of our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), his companions, Tabatabeen and Awleyias, asthey all strictly followed the guidance of the QUR’AN and set an examples for others. We humbly request all our brothers and sisters - do your utmost best and try to follow the Qur’an and Sunnah with sincere efforts, love and passion, and leave rest to ALLAH (swt) who is the most gracious, themost merciful and the final judge of our deeds. Please also show your utmost tolerance, patience, kindness, and love towards your parents and other human beings. This is the best way to earn a place in the Junnah. Let’s now examine what our holy book and authentic hadiths says about a Momin or a Practicing Muslim. The following are some of many Surahs and hadiths, which outline the qualities of a ‘Good Muslim’. Itis up to us to take notice, follow the messages, and seek its benefits both here in this world and hereafter: • In Surah Baqra (C2: V177) – “It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces to the East and the West; but righteous is he who believeth in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Scripture and the prophets; and giveth wealth, for love of Him, to kinsfolk and to orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and to those who ask, and to set slaves free; and observeth proper worship and payeth the poor- due. And those who keep their treaty when they make one, and the patient in tribulation and adversity and time of stress.Such are they who are sincere. Such are the God-fearing.” • In Surah Al Anfal (C8: V46) - it is stated “And obey Allah and His Messenger, and fall into no disputes… and be patient and persevering…” • In Surah Al Hujrat (C49: V15) - it is stated “The true believers are those who only believe ALLAH and His messenger (Muhammad)”. • In Sahahi Bukhari Book 61:hadith 545 – Narrated Uthman: The Prophet said, “The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn Qur’an and teach it” (Through Dawah and other means). We also pray that ALLAH (swt) accepts all our Ibadah, prayers and contribution, and He forgive us, shower His blessings and mercy upon all of us and other human beings - Ameen! Please remember our Admin Team, and their families in your prayers. Please share. Your noble effort will (in’sha’Allah) be rewarded both in this world and hereafter - JAZAK ALLAH.
