Minimum Requirements • Diploma or degree in Journalism, Languages or Media Studies • Experience writing for a newspaper or magazine • Good general knowledge of the current affairs • Knowledge of topical issues and current affairs • Valid drivers license/advantage Skills & Competencies • Able to write fluently in English • Able to work under extreme pressure and to strict deadlines • Sound news judgment • Detail and quality orientation • The ability to work independently • Resilience and initiative Duties & Responsibilities • Write quality news and feature articles, adhering to strict deadlines • Comply with the requirements of the South African Press Code • Take compelling photos for the print and online publications • Proofreading of articles • Generate online and social media content • May be required to assist and support freelance staff and junior staff Submit your CV to [email protected] by Friday, 21 March 2014
