(Australia tops list of best places to live and work ) It seems like Australia has it all – low unemployment, high life expectancy, high wages, a well-functioning health-care system and low air pollution. Not to mention the awesome beaches, hours of sunshine and amazing surfing. All those factors have for the third year in a row placed the country at top of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development’s list of best places to work and life, followed narrowly by Sweden, Canada and Norway. Down under, the average household net-adjusted disposable income is $28,884 a year, more than the OECD average of $23,047 a year. Additionally, over 73% of people between 15 and 64 have a paid job, beating the average of 66%. And people also live longer – Australians are expected to live almost 82 years, two years higher than the OECD average.
