ATTENTION DEAF/HARD OF HEARING: Hi, my name is Kyle, and I am Hard of Hearing. I have a problem that has been on my mind. Recently, I have been watching T.V. shows and movies on Netflix and I always use Closed Captioning/Subtitles. I noticed something that makes me so mad. In some films/shows, the subtitles are censored. They are censoring curse/swear words, and it makes me so mad. Do they think that Deaf/Hard of Hearing people are children who are not able to read curse words? I find it frustrating as they leave out captions to some jokes, edit jokes, and change the wording of what is being said because, for some reason, the person typing the subtitles just does not want to write curse words? It infuriates me. Who else has noticed this? And if so, isnt this insulting..!?! I find that by censoring the words, it makes jokes dumber and the characters arent portrayed in the way the writers/directors intended.
