ATTENTION GRANOLA FANS: Its that time again. The once-a-year run of STL2NOLA: my special local-dried-strawberry, Louisiana honey and Louisiana pecan blend is here! This granola comes around in June, when the local strawberries are ripe and my New Orleans cohorts are traveling the country delivering ingredients to my door. Sweet with a bit of a kick of cayenne, this granola is my love song to the crescent city. Im making a very limited amount, due to the extremely high cost of pecans, so speak now or wait til next year. (except you Rock N Kitn. Ive already set your allotment aside. Sisterhood has perks.) Ill also have Kitchen Sink (very fruit heavy this time, with pineapple, mango, cherries, blueberries, apricots, raisins & the usual suspects as far as nuts go), Elvis Made Me Do It (Peanut butter, banana & candied bacon. Its BACON in the granola people. You know you want it!), and one other (maybe) in small batches for sale the day of the market. What market? you ask? Why, the Kitchen Speakeasy Market! What? Tonis got a little bacon, were making plain, vanilla and fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt. Robin will have tons of pickles and jams, Gidget Frischer has tons of surprises in store & a few new faces might be there as well.
