ATTENTION PEEPS N FRIENDS: A humble & sincere apology As I always do, I put a butt load of time & effort into organizing, coordinating, setting time tables, promoting and all of the small things, to put together every Sundays Showcase.......and when Sunday evening comes Im in my zone, Im ready to do whatever it takes to keep things running as smooth as possible, being as fair as possible, and help bring The Party to the club, the stage, the tables, the dance floor........to greet most everyone personally, to nudge the staff or soundtech if necessary......but also to show my appreciation for every single individual that comes most Sunday Nights to support and be apart of our Kouv Irishtown Bar Sunday Rock n Roll Showcase. Once the live music begins......it can become a balancing act of performers, bands, different line-ups and some ego smoothing, and as you know, there is a Club owner approved program that we follow the delivers the best results, but not always the best feelings for some performers. And yet, everyone still comes out and does their best....and I love you all for that! And this is why Im sending out a major heartfelt apology to everyone, every single person, player, watcher, listener, dancer, drinker that took their valuable time to come out to see The Show....that was supposed to begin promptly at 9:00pm after the NFL game. Last night I arrived early as I do in most cases on Sunday around 6:30pm or so to load in & set up, speak with the in house soundtech & the staff to get on the same page before the Showcase begins...........as I found out, the in-house soundtech was not there, but his wife was, and informed me that he would be there.......that he was just getting in a little extra sleep. My response was that I hope that he gets there by 7:30pm because of Petty Fevers start time of 9:00pm.......hes normally there by 6-7:00pm very Sunday. To shorten the story as yall know.......we performed our due dilligence and waited as instructed for the house soundtech til the witching hour with no sign of him.......he never showed up to work, didnt call or text until almost 11:00pm to say that he was sick......and to go ahead without him. The rest of the evenings late debacle falls directly on me......by the time we recovered with the much appreciated help of Tony Mulherin, Kenny Goldstein, Steve Kennedy, Frank Murray & Jerry Jacques help in learning how the system is put together, how it operates, running mic cables, and breaking into the house techs area to find the mics, and finally getting some assemblance of a mix..........we began the evening over an hour and a half late and my normally reliable & durable bass rig decided to take a dump..........long story short, we understandably lost some listeners and an incredible amount of great jammers who had come to play for the Showcase, and take part in Turbos end of weekend birthday celebration. I was totally off my game and never did recover........so Im sending everyone a sincere apology, pleading for your forgiveness, and asking that you please consider continuing supporting our endeavors on Sunday.......Ive spoken last night and today with the owner and son, and the gears are in motion, and steps being taken to making sure that this never occurs again. I will be completely learning the house system, and have all access to necessary support items. Depending on when and how the dust settles between the owner & his in-house soundtech....the owners back up plan is to possibly hire a specific Sunday Evening soundtech for our Showcase. Got my bass rig in for repairs today, and am currently dealing with a cracked tooth ache. So, Im having a really good, but really bad Monday...............arggggggg! My sincere apologies to every single musician & friend that came out. Bernie.
