ATTENTION PRODUCERS & ARTISTS.. Seems like 90% of hip hop punchlines and metaphors have been regurgitated already. Everybody wanna be a thug or a murderer, everybody got bands/racks, everybodys got big rims, everybodys poppin bottles, everybodys using Autotune with mediocre Beats. Thats why theres such a high turn over ratio in the culture of hip hop because the songs people write about are only relevant for that season then its on to the next slang. There are hardly any timeless artists left, a few elite rappers have ever gotten a Grammy in their life. People in our society judge success off of relevance and not statistics, thats where society has lost touch with reality. Relevance is fabricated, just cause JJ Fishs name rings bells, doesnt mean he can sing. Very few people will ever get a real publishing check in this industry but act like they should have a valuable opinion on a business that they havent professionally been a part of yet?? In every other professional field, you have to have a certification or degree to practice. You owning a mic, computer, and some speakers does not make you an m.c. Its a shame how much of a mockery people have made out of the hip hop culture because its not even hip hop, its an urban culture. Gangster rapper cross dressers got enough people to nod their heads to it so its cool? In my time and in my circle of hood niggas, Rupaul was to be made fun of.. Now niggas is being praised because they got a convincing beat and a major label backing their plays? Sickening to think of all of the shenanigans this business has allowed to be called professional! It used to be an honorable profession to be called a recording artist, Its so watered down that its like saying your a sandwich professional at subway. Get real people, making a 4 Bar loop doesnt grant you the right to call yourself a record producer! You ask 9/10ths of everybody in this business and their signed but never had a real contract in their face, let alone understand publishing splits and a points system. Sick of these non educated children who think its cute to make a mixtape and a t-shirt, now theyve arrived. Do me a favor, make a few Ms and build yourself a brand before you approach me kids..
