ATTENTION!!!! This is something that needs to be addressed beyond the obvious back and forth bickering that involves material culture issues within the Continental Line. Yesterday July 13th 2014 at The Battle of Wyoming Valley in Mt Cobb, PA, there were a number of blatant incidents in safety violations that were perpetrated by Militiamen from the American Camp during and between the battles. Muzzle control, spacing, elevation, and even a sword drawn and presented in an unprovoked aggressive manner to another participant just outside of our camp for starters...however the most disturbing incident was after the final battle on Sunday while returning across the field previously held by the militia that our unit had driven out, someone found a number of new and serviceable .75 cal round ball that had been dropped during their retreat. This is exactly the caliber associated with the 2nd land pattern (Brown Bess) and Charlesville muskets that the majority of them were carrying. It is your responsibility to follow the rules, manage your gear, and not bring these things to an event. The I forgot excuse is nonsense and inexcusable. Any individual or unit who violates the most fundamental rules of firearm safety and furthermore the rules set forth by the umbrella organizations regarding black powder safety, should be removed from the hobby permanently. Period. I will lay blame as a whole on the organization until stricter safety regulations and inspections are performed and/or the offenders are found and held accountable.
