ATTENTION WESLACO CITIZEN, I MADE THIS POST ON THE WESLACO DISCUSSION PAGE WHERE THEY CLAIM THAT FACTS AND TRUTHS ARE ALL WELCOMED, WELL THIS POST NEVER MADE IT TO THAT PAGE, IT WAS BLOCKED, SO I ASK FOR ALL THOSE WHO READ MY FACEBOOK TO PASS THIS ON: Mike Jones, I know that you are not a racist, I said this on an earlier post so that you could know what it feels like to be falsly accused. I have noticed that when you have no where else to go you bring up the arrest of my father and brother, even though they were cleared by a grand jury. Here are the facts to this arrest for those that still care about the truth. In 1994, my father and brother (AC) were arrested, accused of trying to purchse stolen equipment. Rene Guerra gave the approval of the sting called a reversal. What Guerra didnt know at the time was that my husband was a McAllen police officer and that the truth of this arrest would come out. The arrest was made by the Hidalgo County Auto Task Force under the DAs Office. The day after the arrest my husband and I went to the police department, my husband stayed outside, while I went in to find out the steps to get my dad and brother out of jail. While outside, my husband was approached by two of the arresting officers. According to my husband, they were suprised to learn that the two arrested were his in-laws. They explained to him that because the old man, my father, had asked for a bill of sale the charges had to be dropped. They stated that my father had asked them (task force): before the arrest that he needed a bill of sale becuase he needed to have the equipment financed so that he could pay my brother back. They both apologized for all of this, but again stated that the charges would be dropped, because they were both innocent. I was still inside the station and called Chuy Hinojosa to represent my father and brother. Chuy had them arraigned and released to him. When I finally got to meet with Chuy he told me that my father and brother had told him what had happened which was the same thing the two officers had said. In spite of the information we had, the charges remained until it went to the grand jury. Even though Chuy Hinojosa had agreed to represent my father and brother, AC told me that his good friend Zeke Reyna had offered to represent him. While waiting on the grand jury Zeke told my brother that he had met with Guerra and he had agreed that if my father pled guilty, that all the charges would be dropped against him. Zeke stressed to my brother that innocent men go to jail all the time. In spite of all this pressure, my brother said that he could not let my father take the fall, they were innocent and said we would fight this. Finally, after nine months of waiting, both my father and brother were NO BILLED. Even though they were cleared by a grand jury, and that this happened over 20 years ago, people like Mike Jones and others like him continue to harp on this.
