ATTN: Bayswater Locals in Need or Keen Local Volunteers We wanted to highlight somewhere that can help people in need. CHAMPION is a Community Hub and Emergency Food Relief that is open Monday mornings (9:30am-12:30pm)and Wednesday afternoons (1pm-3pm) in Bayswater. They will help anyone in genuine need of assistance, regardless of if they have a health care or pension card or not. In addition to being able to get food, there is also a Community Support Worker who can assist with referrals to other services, advocacy, budgeting assistance and more. There is a playground there for the kids to play on, and friendly volunteers to sit and have a cuppa and a chat. Alternatively, if you are looking to give a helping hand then CHAMPION will take donations of non perishable groceries, toiletries etc, or will accept money for them to purchase items in need. Or you could even volunteer your time to help out if you wanted to.
