ATTN: EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT! It is with great excitement that we announce that the BCBC has been chosen as one of three finalists in a funding competition being put on by Affinity Credit Union. The Business for Good Social Venture Challenge will foster the development and creation of a new Saskatoon-based social enterprise. The prize? A one-time investment of $50,000. The BCBC submitted a proposal for an in-house social enterprise called the Bridge City Bicycle Shop (BCBS), the focus of which will be refurbished bicycles, locally sourced cycling merchandise, bike rentals and other cycling products and services - all offered through recycling and re-purposing used bicycles. Youth employment and leadership opportunities will be integrated into the business model as well. As one of the three finalists of the Challenge, the BCBC will be engaging in an online crowdfunding campaign, where people within Saskatoon and beyond will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred finalist between November 24th and December 10th. The BCBC will be campaigning over the next month in hopes of being chosen as the recipient of the $50,000 investment. SUPPORT US!
