AUDITION - Male Dancer/Performer Mercurial Dance is looking for a male dancer/performer who has Excellent skills in contact improvisation and partner work Who is an experienced performer who is strong, physically fit with good contemporary technique. Exceptional text and voice work, native English speaking Experience in performing physical theatre/dance and text based work is essential Experience in collaborative devised process and creating material Playing character aged 20-25 Audition Date: Friday 5 December 2014 Location: Coventry Contract: 5 January – 21 February 2015 Deadline for applications: Monday 1 December We are looking for one male dancer/physical performer with exceptional text and voice work skills for our new production Fair Youth. Detailed Schedule TBC but includes Training dates on our (open) Voice and Text Workshops: 6-7 December 2014 led by Chris O’Connell (Theatre Absolute) 10-11 January 2015 led by Simon Radcliff (RSC) Devising period 5 Jan – 13 February Performances 14-21 February 2015 Contract extensions February and June/July 2015 subject to funding Fee: £500 per week/£100 per day will be offered as a freelance contract, inclusive. You must be eligible to work in the UK. Fair Youth is a physical fluid duet inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnets to be created and performed in Libraries. • You need to be available for all the dates in the contract period. • The fee is inclusive and will be offered on a self-employed basis. • Rehearsals are in Coventry.
