Former teenage lover of Sheril. Dean has harbored his love for Sheril for years and can only act upon it after his Mother dies. His mother has always hated Sheril. Yet his love is obsessive and brokers no compromise. SHERIL HARRIS: 36 year old, wife of Bruno and mother of Tom. Sheril has always loved Dean, but was hurt by his obedience to his mother over her. Sheril has never loved Bruno, but stays with him for the sake of Tom. TOM HARRIS: 18 year old, son of Bruno and Sheril Harris. He idolized Bruno who he believes to be his natural father, and is devastated at his murder. He vows revenge. DCI OULI DREGO: 27 year old, university graduate police highflyer. She is methodical, astute and very capable. She is prepared to embrace every form of technology in order to aid her investigations. LUKAS LUZO: Professional thief and smalltime crook. Not very bright and easily manipulated. MIKE BRYANT: 19 year old, school bully, who has a hatred of Tom. He is Jan’s brother. DC BEN HARDY: 26 year old, police detective constable. A bit forgetful but very smart and old fashioned in his methods. He has come through the ranks and is not averse to ideas about bending the rules as a means to an end. MR. BYRNE: Dean’s father. An elderly, but energetic middleclass gent, whose sense of right and wrong endures. MRS. BYRNE: Dean’s stepmother and second wife to Mr. Byrne. JAN BRYANT: Tom’s girlfriend and Mike’s sister. INSP. SIMS: Police Inspector, who does most things by the book. INGRID LUZO: Lukas luzo’s estranged wife who has little time for her former husband even though he is the father of their young child.
