AUG 15-This Day in Entertainment & Music History: 1964-The Dave Clark Five signed a deal with MGM to star in a movie. In England that movie was called Catch Us If You Can. When released later in the USA, it was titled, Having A Wild Weekend...1969-Three days of Peace, Love and Music known as the legendary Woodstock Music & Arts Fair began on Max Yasgurs farm in upstate New York. Over 400,000 music fans attended the 3 and a half day event. The ticket price for a one day pass was just 8 dollars. Fans who attended this historic event braved rainstorms and huge traffic jams to see Jefferson Airplane, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Santana, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Joe Cocker among others. The Lovin Spoonfuls John Sebastian, who was only there to watch, was recruited by promoters to perform to fill time while waiting for late arriving scheduled acts...1981-At the Longview Recording Studios in North Brookfield, MA, the Rolling Stones began rehearsing for yet another world tour. It was during this six week session that the Stones ventured into Worcester, MA to play a show at the former Sir Morgans Cove on Green Street.
