By Gillian Spear Firefighters in Hailey, Idaho, were battling the raging Beaver Creek Fire on Saturday as the blaze entered its tenth day and forced more than 1,000 people from their homes. The inferno was burning at 92,000 acres Saturday, up from 64,000 on Friday, officials said early in the day, but no homes have been lost so far in the blaze. More than 600 state and federal firefighters are attempting to put out the fire with a combination of ground and air support, officials said, but the struggle to quench the blaze has been hampered as they also work to control nine other large wildfires that have sprung up in the area. The fire was less than six percent contained Saturday. Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter issued a disaster declaration Friday evening, and assigned the Idaho National Guard to provide support to contain the fire, NBC News affiliate KTVB reported.
