AUSTRALIAS UNEMPLOYMENT RATE DROPS Most Australians would be - TopicsExpress

AUSTRALIAS UNEMPLOYMENT RATE DROPS Most Australians would be pleased to see our national unemployment rate drop to 6.1% after the creation of more than 37,000 jobs last December. But what extraordinary hypocrisy from Labors Brendan OConnor, who immediately criticised the result, saying “an unemployment rate with a 6 in front of it is unacceptable.” Mr OConnor should reflect on Labor Treasurer Wayne Swans prediction about unemployment in the 2013 Pre-Election Forecast, where he said: “The unemployment rate is expected to increase from 5.6 per cent in the June quarter 2013 to 6.25% per cent in the June quarter 2014, and stabilise at that rate through to the June quarter 2015. So having achieved a better unemployment result than Labor predicted for early 2015, current Labor politicians still criticise it! There is no doubt more needs to be done to lower unemployment in Australia, but Labor politicians should acknowledge the facts!
