AUTOMATA started great, a blend of Blade Runner, I Robot, and the the Second Renaissance vignettes from the Animatrix, and then it got really good, kinda spooky, skirting the edge of the uncanny valley. But it fell apart somewhere near the climax. Yet another great routine that ultimately failed to stick the landing, which is a shame: the landing is the most important part.
