****AWESOME DOG LOOKING FOR A FAMILY**** A volunteer writes: Very shy and fearful, Bruno is quite an imposing presence in his kennel. Hes a big boy, and needs a super sized kennel. We do a little dance, as its clear he wants to come out, stepping forward, but then back, and then forward again, and then back. Hes too thin, but not ready to take a treat from my hand, so I toss a couple into his kennel as a peace offering. We eventually figure it out and Bruno steps carefully out of his kennel and we head into the yard. The wind has picked up, so when the tent flaps blow he cringes at the sound. He glides like a panther when he walks, and as he paces the pen I have the chance to really admire his jowly good looks, lean shape and gorgeous coat. He at first wouldnt take a treat from my hand, but as he began to trust me and feel safe with me he did....he takes them super gently, his jowls tickling the palm of my hand. He fell in love with a female in the adjoining pen, wagging his tail, wanting to play and bowing to her in invitation. Bruno seems to come to life around another dog so may do well in a home with a canine companion. Because of his fear, and some resource guarding, he will be best in a home without young children. Hell need time to decompress, feel safe and trust again.
