Aap bhale, toh jag bhala. Accha socho, accha hoga. What goes around, comes around. We have all heard this so many times. But to have that faith, and get it reaffirmed, every time! To believe in it, and see it happen!! That is GODS GRACE!!! This morning I posted that I got up to a beautiful morning, saw a contrail and took it for Gods message that, din accha bitega :) Aur kitna accha! I am happiest when I dont have to cook :p Breakfast was at IKEA. Just as I was leaving from there, read a comment by my friend, that desi lunch is waiting for you. I came home, put away the grocery, and there she was. With a tray filled with all traditional food. I have mentioned before that Faiza Ahmed is from Pakistan. Unke khane waise hi lazeez hote hai. And then when its accompanied by authentic bread brought all the way from Hyderabad (near Karachi), and a dessert made the way it is in her native place, Chiniot, toh kya kehna!! Todays lunch Paye (goat hooves) So tasty (I just had the gravy, of course), with just the right amount of spices to give you that nice tingling sensation in the throat, and a warm feeling all over. Sheermaal, the naan like roti is made with lots of milk and is slightly sweet, but very heavy. And tasty. And the Kheer of course. What is different about the way its made? She said, everything else is the same, only they add about a tsp of vanilla flavoured custard powder. And kewra essence in the end. Its nice and thick, and oh so fragrant :) I need to say it again and again and again. Alhamdulillah! Alhamdulillah!! Alhamdulillah!!! For recipes, contact Faiza Ahmed . According to her, her recipe of paya is very simple. So please take advantage ;) And yes, while I was putting away stuff, slow roasted some chestnuts on mitti ka tava. Seems like winter is finally here, even if only food wise :D
