Ababu has lost the argument and its difficult to find the good - TopicsExpress

Ababu has lost the argument and its difficult to find the good lawyer that once resided in his brain. The matter of ODM elections only hold water if the support by Kenyans for the referendum would be pegged on the party demonstrating that it is democratic. One thing that all must appreciate is that political parties do not have sufficient structures to hold the kind of elections that would be ideal for ODM. Firstly, the last time we had grassroot elections was prior to the exit of Balala, Ruto, Mudavadi, Nyaga, Ngilu and others. What this basically implies is that ODM elections is likely to be hijacked by characters whose loyalty to the party ceased a long time ago. What many of us consider credible is different from Ababus interpretation of credible. A credible ODM elections would need to start from the process of electing new delegates. Ababu conveniently ignores this truth possibly due to his alliance with Jubilee that would see a good chunk of non-party members posing as delegates endorse him for the seat. I must reiterate that if elections are to be held, they must be held by PARTY members alone. But this is besides the point. The question is: what can wait and what must be done now? The referendum must be done now for a number of reasons. Firstly, Jubilee is cheating people that they are supporting devolution while they are cutting it down. Their move to frustrate doctors and nurses have so far been quite effective in turning them against governors....but at what cost? Many are dying in hospitals. This politics of blood must be put to an immediate stop. Secondly, the state of insecurity buoyed by an incompetent and tribal national security team continues unabated. Never mind that it is no longer on the headlines. Note that the media belongs to Jubilee and theyll give a blackout to anything that does not suit the government. People are dying daily and some of the solutions needed are the redefinition of the role of governors to compel the central government to collaborate with the elected representatives wholl then use the PEOPLE POWER at their disposal to help the police to be more effective. For as long as the status quo remains, assassinations, murder and other crimes will continue. You, my current reader, cannot even state with certainty that someone will not come over and exterminate you before 2017. This makes the referendum very urgent. How about ODM? Theres nothing urgent about ODM elections. The referendum is NOT going to EAT SGs position. It will still be there after the referendum. When the time comes, current members of ODM must select new delegates and select national officials. Theres no guarantee that anyone will be elected. After all, delegates are not easily swayed by Jubilee media: they have the insider information they need on each of the contestants and can make a more informed decision than the general public would. So, Ababu should tell us: what is the real motive of him seeking to ground the referendum? What sense of entitlement does he have to the SG position? What makes him so sure that hed win this seat if the elections are announced? What evidence does he have that the referendum will EAT the SG position hence rendering him ambitionless at the end of the process? Tell us Ababu, please tell us.
