Abba, I come to you today to acknowledge my Grief, Pain and Despair. I also want to acknowledge the Grief, Pain and Despair of thousands of parents who like myself have lost all, or most contact with there children. I see only a small portion of these parents through my contacts, but you see them all. Not only the Grief, Pain and Despair of the parents, but also the children, Grandparents, and extended family of all those touched by the specter of TPR (Termination of Parental Rights). While my own Grief and Pain is difficult to deal with, the vast sea of these emotions from all of those involved only you can fully understand. It was this grief and pain that was only a small portion of the cup from which Jesus knew he would have to drink when you prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. You bore all that pain and grief, so that we would not have to endure it alone. Few parents who have not been face to face with what is known as Civil Death can truly comprehend the intensity of the emotions involved. You do, and you will go through this journey with us. Even if all human friendship and family should fail us. You have loved us, and it is to you we look now, in the hour of our need, in the hour of despair, to be our source. Our source of strength, our source of hope, our source of healing. Father you have promised though your son, to never leave us or forsake us. So now I pray, pray for myself, my wife, all the parents, children and families caught in the grip of CPS, family court, or other government agency. I pray that where there is need to grow, and change behaviors you give those parents the willingness, and strength to make those changes and grow in you to become better people, and parents. For those falsely accused I pray you would give them the power to stand on the truth. To do the hard tasks of speaking the Truth with Love and Grace, but also with boldness and conviction. Abba, come now and pour your spirit out that we might find comfort, peace, and courage, in these troubled times.
