Abdullah Abdullah and his supporters will become impatient, bellicose, and frustrated in the upcoming days due to the natural instinct of the shocking defeat and their historical pattern of behavior. They may even talk about the possibility of biggest threats for Afghanistan, including enticement of people to go into civil wars. Tension will further increase after the announcement of the preliminary results. However, they will lack the support of the international community, the Afghan masses and their own team members. Their election coalition will begin to disintegrate at some point in time. Individuals such as Zalmai Rassoul, Karzais brother, Sherzai, Qanooni, Sayyaf and possibly others will distance themselves one by one from the rest. Ghani will stress on abiding by the rule of law and urging the government to solve the issue through the legal channels such as votes recounting and separating fraud votes from the rest; he will however be sure that doing so wont affect his lead. He wont accept a power sharing deal despite Karzais mediating attempts (whether fake or genuine). At some point the Dr. Abdullah’s team will realize that they will not achieve anything from bullying and chaos of the election process, thus they will step back eventually. However, for years to come, they will keep calling Ghanis administration an illegitimate one. They will though hope to make it in the next elections especially after coming up with a tangible agenda and proper homework. Abdullah Abdullah and his friends would have more at stake in turmoil than others due to the net value of their accumulated wealth.
