Abdullahs first letter since he was transferred to solitary - TopicsExpress

Abdullahs first letter since he was transferred to solitary confinement in Aqrab maximum security prison. He begins his 5th month of hunger strike. They want to break me. My hunger strike is a burden on them, and perhaps my work is too. Hisham Shokry, an officer at Istikbal Prison, referred to Aljazeera and its employees as deviants. He gets angry when he sees my name on its despicable news channel, and believes I have sold out my country. Another officer, Mohamed Ashry, took it personally after he failed to talk me out of the hunger strike. They all claim to love Egypt but none of them does. Last night after I was transferred to Aqrab (Scorpion) Prison, I was force-fed a piece of tuna and eventually passed out. The in-house doctor, who is nicknamed the butcher came, he poured a bottle of iced water on me and then left. I threw up three times. Before dawn I woke up with terrible pain in my stomach and back; when I called the guard for help, he said that no one is awake, and as you just saw, the doctor is heartless. Since I was transferred here, I have been in solitary confinement without my belongings, and they continue to pressure me to end the strike. I am barred from speaking to anyone or leaving my cell. The 30x40 cm slot in my door was even shut to completely isolate me. I wonder how my mother is, and how she reacted when she heard the news. I prayed a lot that she, and the love of my life, Gehad, stay strong and get through this. Thinking of them brought me tears. As for me, I have resigned myself to the worst. Only water will pass my lips, regardless of what these people do to me. If this is destined to be my end, then so be it.
