Abebe Gellaw Why Bill Gates should return honorary degree I am very glad to see Bill Gates honored by my alma mater, the Addis Ababa University. AAU is a historic university that has witnessed the rise and fall, ups and downs of our country under three brutal regimes. Gates is a great changemaker and a global citizen who deserves all kinds of honors and accolades. The problem is that he received this honor from the hands of the most brutal people, like Hailemariam Desalegn and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who are key members of a criminal regime shattering the dreams of young vitionaries and dreamers. So as a gesture of solidarity with those young men and women who have lost their lives, dignity, freedom and rights under the boots of the TPLF regime, we will launch a camapign to urge him to return the honorary degree with a note to the same people who honored him to free those visionaries and dreamers unjustly locked up for dreaming a better tomorrow for Ethiopia and its poor people. Honorable people like Bill Gates do not deserve to be cheated by dishonorable tyrants that do not care about a better tomorrow for this world. They are obstacles to human progress and positive changes. Bill Gates should follow the example set by Azusa Pacific University which has decided to take back the honor it had already bestowed on Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn. Give them back Mr. Bill Gates!
