About 15 years ago, Ed and I bought a Tribal ceremonial mask from Burkina Faso, Africa at local auction. I sent off pictures at the time and it was identified as a spirit mask by someone at the University of Pennsylvania. Its one that fits over a persons entire head, rather like a helmet and smells of burned wood and something that I can only imagine might be burned dung. This morning, Ed asked me what I thought about putting it up on Ebay for sale. I have mixed feelings. This mask has always given me the shivers on one hand---and on the other hand, I feel like its rather sacred. I see that there are others that are similar for sale on Ebay, but Im just not sure how I feel about it. Im also not sure how the heck it ended up in little ole Aiken, SC!!
