About 4 weeks ago, I brought in Robin Williams to my classroom. My goal, when I showed his face on my power point slide, was to make my nursing students realize that Mental Health sufferers can also be very successful in life, and that no one should discriminate against them. Today, the mysteries of life played its game! Mr. Williams, a Bipolar Sufferer, died today at age 63, possibly due to Suicide. We need to do much better in recognizing signs of Mental Illnesses, if we are to avoid such tragic and irreplaceable losses. I loved you Mr. Williams. You have made me laugh many times when I was the one sad. I truly wish I was there for you too... I wish I was there to hold your hands and tell you to keep going strong. To keep wanting to live... because life does worth living. It doesnt matter how sad one may be. Life is worth living. Thanks for what you have given to us.
