About 5,000 turtles made the journey in the drainage ditch in front of Love Civic Center Saturday at noon but only one could take the first prize of $3,000. That honor went to Marc Rhea. The Great Paris Turtle race benefitted the Boys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley with each turtle costing $10. Other prizes were awarded as the turtles raced to the finish line with hundreds of people enjoying the event.
