The servers are in ICELAND. We get a bill every month to pay for them in ICELAND. Its actually quite a bit more expensive to host in Iceland, but we think its worth it. We had a lot of complaints about latency with Seen.is, so we added a CDN (content delivery network), this helps make the three ways in and out of Iceland seem faster. That distributes things all over the world and makes the service much more reliable. If youre near California, it might say California. We had one user in Asia who thought the servers were in Hong Kong. Thats where everything came out for him. If you are concerned about this, just use direct.seen.is Itll go DIRECT TO ICELAND. A bit slower, but youll be going there directly. that means that its not in Iceland as advertised, and the FBI/NSA/DHS types can seize information from the cloud servers with nothing more than a hastily drafted national security letter. As long as any server sits on American soil, its subject to American laws, especially when it comes to the government demanding free data. What is your response to that, and how do you plan on fixing that problem? They cant touch a thing without an Icelandic court order. They dont hand those out like popcorn in Iceland, you need a crime of at least six years to get a warrant. Its not like the US where the movie companies and banks own the country.
