About Shawnee: Shawnee Rioles hails from South Florida where she studied and performed in musical theater, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and Latin dance. She performed in many Latin parades and festivals including famous Calle Ocho in Miami and was featured in many Latin dance productions on the Latin television channel, UNIVISION. Shawnee began teaching Zumba® Fitness in early 2007 when it was fairly unknown in the Los Angeles area. She worked closely with Beto Perez (the creator of Zumba®), earning her instructor license from him, and ultimately took part in the Zumba® Fitness infomercials filmed in LA that summer. Since then, she has built an incredible career of dance, fitness, and music that includes sharing the Zumba® Fitness program with hundreds of excited students every week, being featured in 3 of the New Zumba® Fitness Exhilarate DVDs as well as Zumba® infomercials in 2007, 2010, and 2013, being featured as a background dancer for the Zumba® Fitness Video Game, organizing and leading Zumba® halftime shows with the NBA Los Angeles Clippers, WNBA Los Angeles Sparks, NBA D-League Los Angeles Defenders, and heading up the Zumba® events for the NBA All-Star Jams in 2011. In addition, Shawnee also assisted in the presentation of Rock and Roll Revolution and Zumba in the Circuit at the 2013 Zumba® convention in Orlando, Florida. Her proudest achievement with Zumba® so far is being chosen in 2011 as a Licensed Zumba® Jammer. Shawnee has traveled all over the USA to share her choreography in ZIN™ Jam Sessions and has had the amazing honor to learn and work with the best of the best in Zumba® Fitness, taking that knowledge with her as she mentors other Zumba® instructors in their Zumba® Fitness career.
