About T277......... because of the demolitions and of successive additions, it is difficult to trace the original plan. The modern courtyard measures 8.5 x 5m, and is used as a garbage dump and latrines. It is common to two tombs, TT278 of Amenemhab and TT277 of Ameneminet which these pages are about. It is accessed by a modern banister. The ground of the TT278 is at the same level as the court (see tb-01), whilst that of TT277 is lower down by 2m (see db-0410). The workers had to dig to find a good rocky vein and benefit of enough rock at the level of the ceiling. One descends therefore, in the chapel, by three or four steps. This situation below has also promoted the flow of rain water in the tomb, explaining the degradation of the lower area of the walls. The ancient facade has completely disappeared, but there is little doubt that it contained a lintel and doorposts in stone and that a small pyramid overhung the entrance door, as will be seen represented later.
