About The Margaret Oliver Ladue Foundation ... (#3) In addition to fundraising throughout the year in order to fund our annual Margaret Oliver Ladue Scholarship and donations to other worthy charitable organizations & causes, we also volunteer for and support other organizations & causes - while representing The Margaret Oliver Ladue Foundation, and doing so in loving memory of Margaret Oliver Ladue. To date, we have supported the following: Hair donated to Locks of Love by Rebecca Nichols, Margarets granddaughter. Attended a Concert fundraising event featuring a rare one night performance by Sammy Plotkin, Maryse Smith, and Peter Newland in Springfield, Massachusetts - with proceeds benefiting the CHD Cancer House of Hope. Volunteer efforts donated to Habitat for Humanity – Women Build by Kimberly Ladue, Margarets daughter. Selected to serve on the Development Advisory Committee for the CHD (Center for Human Development) Cancer House of Hope in West Springfield, Massachusetts (Kimberly & Troy Ladue). Volunteer efforts donated annually for the Not So Snooty Beer, Wine and Cheese Tasting Adventure Fundraiser to benefit Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a free summer camp for seriously ill children, in Ashford, Connecticut - by Troy & Lisa Ladue, Margarets son & daughter. Sponsored & participated in the annual Walk, Run, Roll 5K fundraising event at Forest Park in Springfield, Massachusetts to benefit CHD and its over 70 programs - including the Cancer House of Hope. Volunteer efforts donated to the American Cancer Society by giving free rides to those living with cancer, to and from their cancer treatment appointments - by Lisa Ladue. Sponsored & participated in the annual Lights of Hope Luminaria fundraising event to honor those who are living with cancer, those that beat cancer, and those that passed away from cancer - in Westfield, Massachusetts, which benefits the CHD Cancer House of Hope. Volunteer efforts donated weekly to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts by Troy Ladue. Sponsored the annual Tee it Up for the House Golf Tournament fundraising event in Southwick, Massachusetts - by sponsoring one of the tees and by donating a gift basket for their raffle. Proceeds benefited the CHD Cancer House of Hope. Sponsored & participated in the Rays of Hope Walk in Springfield, Massachusetts - with proceeds benefiting programs which offer free services to breast cancer survivors in the Western Massachusetts area - by Lisa Ladue. Attended the Hors D’Oeuvres and Hope fundraising event at CityStage in Springfield, Massachusetts - benefiting CHD and its over 70 programs - including the Cancer House of Hope. The Margaret Oliver Ladue Foundation, Inc. - A 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization which was founded by the three children of Margaret Oliver Ladue, who passed away from cancer on May 2, 2010. The Margaret Oliver Ladue Scholarship - Awarded annually to a graduating Morse High School senior with preference given to a student living in Phippsburg, Maine who has demonstrated determination, academic perseverance, community involvement, care and concern for others, and a strong work ethic. Margaret Oliver Ladue graduated from Morse High School, which is located in Bath, Maine, and was a member of the class of 1959. This scholarship is provided by The Margaret Oliver Ladue Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization which was founded by Margarets three children, shortly after she passed away from cancer on May 2, 2010. The foundation is dedicated to honoring Margaret’s memory and legacy through the support of scholarships & charitable causes which reflect her character, generous spirit, genuine care & concern for others, as well as her enduring love for her family and her home state of Maine. Healing Hearts Nature Sanctuary - A dedicated and sacred place of The Margaret Oliver Ladue Foundation, which was given in loving memory of Margaret Oliver Ladue & Larry Barnes by Kimberly Ladue & Rebecca Nichols. Owned and preserved by the Foundation, the sanctuary is a dedicated space primarily for the enjoyment of family, friends, and supporters - a quiet place for reflection & the enjoyment of nature and Margarets perennial flowers, wildflowers, song birds, hummingbirds, butterflies, & other wildlife. Located in Brimfield, Massachusetts, it was formerly the site of Kimberly & Rebeccas beloved home - prior to the destruction caused by a devastating tornado on June 1, 2011.
