About a week ago a 14 year old girl was feeling down. New school, new people, not being at the highest level of the hierarchy & boys all added to her hue of blue. I asked her wouldnt it be cool if her 44 year old self could pay her a visit and tell her what pitfalls to avoid, what really ends up mattering & how brief this period of uncertainty is in the grand scheme of things? I told her that wasnt going to happen. But the next best thing was letting her know that I was in those shoes and I told her what pitalls to avoid, what would end up mattering & that she would be much more sure of herself sooner than she thinks.
