About a year ago, I decided to put Jatziri in Soccer, so my mom and I teamed up to coach the team. This was a group of 8 boys and girls between 4&5years old. At the time, I wasnt sure what I got my self into. I mean, how much can you actually teach these PreK kids? Last week, at a Middle school football game, one of my kids came up to me and hugged me. Thats when I realized that I have made an impact on these kids. I was their first soccer coach, and I did my best to make the game fun for them. I showed them how to pass, dribble, and play together as a team. I told them to practice at home because thats how they would become better at anything they wanted to do, Practice. I told them to believe in themselves and that the sky is the limit. Last week I realized how fulfilling it is to be a soccer coach. I still remember my first soccer coach, Coach Thompson, and I remember the games I played and how much fun I had. I still have my Jersey from that team. She showed me how fun playing sports could be. And my high school Coach Connie Koehn, because she brought me back to soccer. One day, at basketball practice, I caught an elbow to the face and broke my nose. Coach Koehn walked in and said, this wouldnt happen if you played soccer. And she was right, instead I tore my ACL. But its because of coaches like them that I will forever love this sport. And I hope to inspire the kids I have and will coach. Last week I decided to team up with my Step dad and coach 10 year old boys.... Wish me luck
