About a year ago one of my liberal FB friends dropped me. She was not happy because I criticized her hypocrisy. At the time she was living in a home worth over $200,000 (thats a very conservative estimate) and she and her husband both drove late model (very nice) cars. Both of her children attended college on scholarships and and one lived on the coast. She frequently traveled to see the one on the coast. The family had a very nice lifestyle. When one of the family members became ill there was a cry for financial assistance. While I felt very sorry for the situation they now found themselves thrust into I was also struck by their lack of preparation for this event. They chose to live in the here and now and not plan for the future. When the illness struck they looked for help from others and the government while they still lived in a home nicer than mine and drove cars nicer than mine etc. Okay, time to discuss. Shouldnt families be responsible for themselves?
