About a year ago today, on August 25, 2013 at 2 pm, Mr Sonny Camarillo, a Past President and Lifetime Member of the Camera Club of the Philippines, staged yet another major work of his thru his One-Man Photo exhibit dubbed as ‘LABAN NI NINOY” at the Ayala Malls Trinoma, Quezon City. Mr Camarillo, aside from his definitive People Power photos, exhibited never-before-published and recent photos, that truly epitomize a tireless and committed photojournalist who has helped marked our glorious moments in history. It may be recalled that the original schedule of the opening was in August 20, with the confirmed attendance of President NOYNOY Benigno Aquino III as Guest of Honor and Speaker. Due to inclement weather, however, the opening was reset to the said August 25 date. Secretary Sonny Coloma of the Presidential Communications Operations Office represented the President as Guest of Honor. Gracing the occasion as highly spirited speakers who all brought back meaningful anecdotes and memories of the long fight to democracy and the continuing challengers of the times and who also served as distinguished guests for the ribbon cutting ceremonies were Former Senators Nene Pimentel, Heherson Alvarez and Nikki Coseteng, Former NAIA GM Relly German, Spirit of Edsa Chairman Cris Carreon, Mr Robinson Ong, GM of Camera Haus, Mrs Sonia Camarillo and former NAIA-MIAA Asst GM TG Serrano. May I the link to video clips of the highlights of the simple Opening Ceremonies taken by Sonny Camarillo’s brothers Jun and Philip and daughter Cathy - TGS.
