About eight years ago, volunteers planted a row of cypress trees along the back of the Guardian House — a local shelter for children facing circumstances of abuse or neglect — to provide a visual barrier and privacy screen for the children. As a non-profit, the Guardian House could not afford to perform the tree pruning on its own.
