About our founder: As a business owner and practicing lawyer specializing in tax and business law at a boutique law firm in Seal Beach, Rachel Simon wears many professional hats. She represents numerous businesses and non-profit organizations, and in that regard, she works extensively with executives and directors, and other decision makers on corporate governance, tax and other general business matters. In addition to her client service responsibilities, she manages much of the budgeting, human resources, staff training, and information technology issues for the law firm. The firm’s clients consist of a very diverse group, ranging from small start up ventures to multinational, publicly traded companies. The firm serves as outside counsel to many middle market companies, so Ms. Simon routinely handles employment related matters, negotiate and draft business agreements of all kinds, advise on tax matters, and structure merger and acquisition transactions. The firm’s larger clients are sometimes based in foreign jurisdictions and their needs include assistance international business matters as well as with U.S. corporate or tax issues compliance. The practice also includes start up ventures, so Ms. Simon often meets with entrepreneurs and assist them with the process of moving from an idea or business plan to starting the business. This involves, among other things, choice of entity and formation issues as well as capital access matters. Ms. Simon uses legal and business problem solving skills in order to fully address her clients’ needs.
